Hardy Falls is just over 6 hectares. A peaceful, cool place to visit on a hot Okanagan summer day. The park boasts a brilliant show of red kokanee salmon returning to their spawning grounds each year in early September to lay their eggs. Hardy Falls Regional Park is a particularly good place to watch the fish as they seem to be slightly larger in size and seem to arrive a little earlier than those in other nearby creeks. In the fall its very exciting because the brilliant red salmon move upstream annually to lay their eggs. An easy 15-minute walk through the riparian area takes you to Hardy Falls.
If golfing is your passion, hit the links at Ponderosa Golf Club , a par 72, 18-hole course or visit the mountainside wineries. A walk to Hardy Falls with its seven footbridges and spectacular waterfall is an easy hike for all ages that should not be missed especially in September when the Kokanee spawn. For those with more challenging hiking appetites, try the 5km hike to Pincushion Mountain for unparalleled valley views.
